Muscle Pain: Causes, Home Remedies and Prevention

  • Some muscle pains are short-lived as they tend to go away after a day or two. Proper rest and controlled movement will suffice to get rid of this type of muscle pain. 
  • On the other hand, there are those muscle pains that occur from a wound or a common virus. The Doctor’s advice is mandatory in order to fight against such pain.

Exercising: No matter what age you are at, you need a proper exercising routine to stay healthy and active. At times heavy lifting of weights at the gym may result in muscle spasm, which may in turn cause damage to tissues.

  • Practice warm-up and cool-down techniques, before and after lifting weights. 
  • Daily running and jogging help circulate blood flow all over the body that in turn will lessen the muscle pain. 
  • A lot of times yoga proves to be effective in dealing with various kinds of pain. Ask your yoga instructors which specific yoga postures will help you manage and decrease muscle pains. 

Resting: When you work out in the gym, it is natural to have muscle pain, especially at the initial stage of physical workout. The body needs time to adjust to the external stimulus. So, provide your body with plenty of physical rest to cope up with the grueling gym sessions.  

  • Sleep eight to nine hours daily. Sleeping works wonder in bringing a broken body back to shape. Make a proper routine that allows you to hit the bed as early as possible.
  • So many people suffer from back pain because their sleeping postures are all messed up. To avoid bad sleeping postures, get the best pillows for side sleepers to experience a night of peaceful sleep. When you wake up feeling rejuvenated, you have the advantage to face the world with new enthusiasm. 
  • Treat yourself to a spa day every once in a while. The relaxing and soothing effects of herbal oil spa will let all the toxins out of your system. Let the strokes of massage heal body and mind. 

If you experience chronic pain that bothers you for a long time, do not hesitate to consult a doctor. The twinge may be an indicator of other underlying illness. Do not ignore recurring pain as it may lead to something fatal. Taking care of your well-being should be a top priority.
